Baby-naming consultants expect the Knicks’ championship to drive a surge in names tied to the roster, especially Finals MVP and captain Jalen Brunson.
Nameberry CEO Pamela Redmond said the boost reflects not just the title run but the players’ likability and the sense of citywide unity it created.
Jalen, Joshua, Miles and Tyler already sit in the U.S. top 1,000 boys’ names, while Landry is rising fast, according to Social Security Administration data.
Brunson could spread as both a first and last-name choice: Redmond said 9 baby boys were named Brunson in 2025, and New York City health officials said only 5 babies had been named Jalen since March 1 but expected that to jump.
