2 People Assault Hotel Guest After Spurs-Knicks Game 5 in San Antonio

Around 12:30 a.m. Sunday, two people allegedly assaulted a hotel guest returning from the Spurs-Knicks NBA Finals Game 5 at Hotel Valencia Riverwalk, and the victim was hospitalized and later released.
The guest told KSAT he and his father were walking back from the game when the attack happened; a hotel spokesperson said the assailants were wearing Spurs gear and drove by before the assault.
San Antonio authorities responded at the 150 E. Houston St. hotel and a police report was filed, while KSAT said police had not yet provided additional details.
The incident follows other NBA Finals-related fan violence, including attacks on Spurs fans in New York after Game 3 and a 17-year-old assaulted after the Knicks' Game 4 win.
A separate downtown shooting during Game 5 left a woman critically injured, though the report said it was unclear whether that case was connected to the hotel assault.
