Apple has added new landscape-friendly layouts to 11 native iOS apps, a broad push that points to software preparation for a larger iPhone display.
Those updates go beyond simple rotation, adding left-side navigation panels in apps such as Apple Music, Weather, Health and Podcasts to better use widescreen space.
WWDC 2026 sessions reinforced that shift: Apple told developers to design for a dynamic range of screen sizes and aspect ratios under iOS 27.
Apple still has not confirmed a foldable handset, but the software changes are fueling expectations that a foldable iPhone could arrive around September alongside the iPhone 18 Pro.
