Summary
Sixteen Apple devices will lose support this fall across watchOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27 and tvOS 27, while iOS 27 keeps the same iPhone compatibility list as iOS 26.
Five Apple Watch models face the biggest cull yet: Series 6, 7, 8, first-generation Ultra and second-generation SE, as watchOS 27 now requires an S9 or S10 chip.
Five iPads, four Intel Macs and two Apple TV models are also dropped, with iPadOS 27 raising the minimum to A14 or M1 and macOS 27 ending support for the last Intel Macs.
September releases are expected after beta testing, and affected devices should still receive security patches on the previous OS for at least about a year.
