Ripple Launches XRPL AI Kit for 120 Million-Transaction Agent Payments Market

Ripple rolled out an XRPL AI Starter Kit that lets developers build AI agents to send payments on XRP Ledger using XRP and RLUSD.
The push targets x402 machine-to-machine payments, where agents pay for APIs or services inside web requests; Ripple is pitching XRPL’s three-to-five-second settlement, low fees and native DEX as advantages.
That market is already concentrated elsewhere: public x402 data shows more than 120 million cumulative transactions and over $41 million in USDC volume across 14 chains, led by Base and Solana.
Adoption remains unproven for Ripple’s offering, with no named customers, transaction volumes or production-scale deployments disclosed for XRP or RLUSD agent payments.
The broader opportunity comes with technical risk, as researchers have warned x402 can create web-and-blockchain synchronization failures around payment proof, authorization and replay.
