Billboard published composer Daniel Hart’s 25-song inspiration playlist for AMC’s The Vampire Lestat, offering the clearest look yet at how the season’s rock-heavy soundtrack was built.
Hart said he assembled the list in fall 2024 for star Sam Reid and showrunner Rolin Jones as he wrote 20-plus original songs and joined the writers’ room to shape Lestat’s musical identity.
David Bowie, T. Rex, Nirvana and Chappell Roan are among the touchstones, with Hart describing a deliberate genre-hopping approach that tracks Lestat from glam-rock swagger into darker, more introspective territory.
Weekly EPs featuring songs from new episodes are set to roll out before the full soundtrack arrives on streaming, with tracks such as All Fall Down, Big Bad Wolf and The Loneliness tied to specific influences.
