PARTSOFSPEECH was the June 12 Strands spangram, with CNET also listing six theme answers: HOOK, BODY, POINT, TOPIC, PROBLEM and CONCLUSION.
The puzzle’s theme was “Something to talk about,” and CNET said the board was unusually tricky because several answers were hard to unscramble and the spangram felt misleading.
11 clue words CNET used to unlock in-game hints included BORE, PROBE, POEM and BOUNCE; Strands reveals a theme word after players find three words of four letters or more.
