Summary
Three SEC employees were found to have played 18 holes at a public golf course while claiming they were working from home, according to an inspector general report obtained through a FOIA request.
One employee resigned and two were suspended after investigators confronted them with evidence last year, the report said.
The SEC inspector general’s probe ran for nearly three years—from January 2022 through December 2024—showing the agency devoted a lengthy investigation to the misconduct.
The full 11-page report was disclosed this week after the watchdog announced in March that it had completed the investigation.
