Research partners can now access Alice & Bob’s Helium Quantum System, the company’s first research-available platform built around its cat-qubit architecture.
The system is designed to encode Alice & Bob’s first logical qubit with 18 cat-qubits, with hardware, cabling, control electronics and software all tuned for quantum error correction.
Starboard, launched alongside Helium, gives administrators a single dashboard to monitor qubit performance, schedule workloads and track live hardware metrics across the 18-cat-qubit machine.
About 40 kW of power is needed to run the system, which Alice & Bob says helps lower deployment costs; it also integrates with HPC environments through Slurm-compatible QRMI tools and the Felis framework.
The upgradeable platform is meant to support a future 48-cat-qubit chip with multiple logical qubits, part of Alice & Bob’s roadmap to a universal fault-tolerant quantum computer by 2030.
