Steam Frame Welcome Tour Leak Shows First Boot Sequence Ahead of Summer Launch

A short Steam Frame Welcome Tour video surfaced on Reddit, showing the headset’s first-boot setup, controller overview, UI gestures and PC pairing flow.
The footage appears to have been captured through an older Valve Index rather than the Steam Frame itself, with colored passthrough indicating it was not recorded natively on the new headset.
The demo also shows Valve’s core pitch: turn on the headset, connect wirelessly to a PC via a USB Type-A dongle, and launch VR titles from an overlaid Steam Library.
That wireless setup is supported by a dedicated headset antenna and foveated streaming, which uses eye tracking to prioritize image quality where the user is looking.
The leak adds to signs of an approaching release after Valve said last week that the Steam Frame and Steam Machine will ship this summer, though pricing, unit volumes and a date remain undisclosed.
