YouTube Expands In-App Video Sharing to U.S. and Global Users 18+

YouTube is extending its in-app video sharing and messaging feature to the U.S. and additional global markets, letting users 18 and older connect directly inside the app.
A new messaging icon lets users send invites, share videos and react in real time without leaving YouTube, expanding a feature that had already drawn positive feedback in earlier markets.
The rollout keeps YouTube's existing guardrails: shared content and messages remain subject to Community Guidelines.
The move revives an in-app messaging function YouTube removed in 2019 and signals further expansion as the company gathers feedback from newly added markets.
