Summary
$331 million sequel follow-up “24 Jump Street” is back in development, with Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum and Ice Cube in talks to return for a third film.
Rodney Rothman will direct and co-wrote the script with Hill and Meghan Malloy, while original filmmakers Phil Lord and Chris Miller return as producers alongside Neal H. Moritz.
The franchise has been stalled at Sony for more than a decade after a planned “23 Jump Street” crossover with “Men in Black” was scrapped; Tatum currently has an offer, with negotiations expected.
“21 Jump Street” grossed more than $200 million worldwide in 2012, and 2014’s college-set sequel outperformed it, showing why Sony is reviving the R-rated comedy series.
