Gypsy Rose Blanchard said on a June 9 podcast that her mother used Orajel to make her drool before appointments, leading doctors to remove her salivary glands in 2007.
A long scar across her neck remains, and Blanchard said the procedure still leaves her clearing her throat often and drinking a lot of water.
Blanchard also described a neurologist who told Dee Dee there was no reason she could not walk and documented suspected Munchausen by proxy in her medical records.
That note prompted a child protective services visit, but Blanchard said the inquiry went nowhere because officials did not ask questions tied to the abuse allegations.
The new account adds detail to the medical abuse case surrounding Dee Dee Blanchard, whose 2015 killing led to Gypsy Rose serving nearly eight years before her 2023 parole.
