Trump said U.S. forces secretly moved “millions of barrels of oil” through the Strait of Hormuz, including 22 ships sent at night without lights.
He said the operation eased energy-price pressure after U.S. strikes destroyed Iranian radar, adding that he had wanted to disclose it earlier.
Trump also called the latest 4.2% annual CPI reading “great,” arguing the rise reflects war-driven energy costs that should fade once the Iran conflict ends.
The inflation print is the highest since April 2023, with affordability already hurting Trump politically as last year’s tariffs and the Hormuz disruption push prices higher.
