$94 Amazfit Helio Strap has received a new software update that links the band to compatible Amazfit smartwatches, upgrades sleep tracking and expands pickleball metrics.
The smartwatch connection lets the strap store heart-rate data offline on the watch during swims even without a Bluetooth link to a phone, with Amazfit saying the strap's readings take priority over watch data.
The patch also reiterates newer workout additions such as basketball and pool swimming, and lets users save favorite workouts in the companion smartphone app.
Amazfit is again positioning the subscription-free Helio Strap as a lower-cost alternative to Whoop 5.0, after a major feature update last December.
