The Mobi Fold’s globally released design, including an accessible battery compartment, looks consistent with manufacturers adapting early to those rules rather than building separate regional versions. So this is not just a box-ticking exercise, but it probably would not have happened this way without regulatory pressure. In practice, that is often how hardware improves: regulation forces a design change, and users end up with a better product. For buyers, the motive matters less than the result. If Logitech also makes replacement batteries easy to buy at a reasonable price, the feature will be a meaningful win rather than a symbolic compliance move.
