Summary
July 10-12 will mark the Isle of Man’s first Techstars Startup Weekend, with more than 50 innovators, developers, designers and aspiring founders gathering at Launchpad in Douglas.
The 54-hour format is designed to help participants build a company from scratch, develop prototypes and turn ideas into ventures, in what organizers call the first such event in the Crown Dependencies.
Katerina Chantzi, a London-based Techstars-certified facilitator and 2022 Top 100 Women in Social Entrepreneurship honoree, will lead the program.
Google for Startups, Brex and Deel are backing the weekend alongside local sponsors LIBT and Launchpad, while organizers are still seeking more sponsors, mentors and judges.
Techstars Startup Weekends have been held in more than 150 countries, and organizers say the Douglas debut aims to spark a stronger local startup ecosystem.
