11 Workforce Australia Providers Submit AI Plans, With 0 Approved After 6 Months

Eleven employment services suppliers have lodged proposals to use AI in managing Workforce Australia job providers, DEWR officials told a Senate estimates hearing last week.
Zero plans had been approved about six months after most were submitted, leaving providers still waiting for government clearance to deploy the technology.
Three proposals were described as “nearing completion” as of last week, but the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations could not say when decisions would be made.
The backlog highlights a slow approval process for AI use in frontline employment services, where contractors need DEWR sign-off before changing how they manage providers.
