Support for rejoining is especially strong among younger voters, with around two-thirds of 18-24 year olds in favour. Over time, that has helped move overall opinion away from the narrow 51.9% Leave majority recorded in 2016. But a pro-rejoin majority in polling does not mean re-entry is politically close. Support can soften if rejoining means accepting all current EU rules, and Britain’s main parties remain cautious about reopening the issue quickly. So the public mood has shifted clearly toward rejoining, even if the path to doing so remains difficult.
