As a limited-edition release tied to Xbox’s 25th anniversary, it is likely to have collector appeal, especially if supply is tight in select markets. Price is the deciding factor. Microsoft has not announced official pricing, but the standard Series X is already listed at $649.99 after recent hardware increases. If the X25 carries a meaningful markup above that, the extra cost will be hard to justify for anyone focused on practical value. A standard Series X would deliver the same gaming experience for less. So the answer depends on the buyer. For collectors and dedicated Xbox fans, the nostalgic design may justify the premium as a commemorative item. For performance-minded gamers, it is largely a cosmetic upsell.

Asha Sharma told Xbox FanFest LA attendees after the Xbox Games Showcase 2026 that anyone with “fan” on their badge would receive a free Xbox Series X25 console.
The giveaway came as Xbox executives closed out the event, with Sharma framing it as part of the celebration around her first Xbox Games Showcase and the brand’s 25th anniversary.
The Series X25 has not shipped to fans yet because the limited-edition console is not due to release until November.
The hardware is a special 25th-anniversary version of the Xbox Series X, and Xbox is also releasing a matching commemorative controller.
