Activision Unveils Call of Duty DMZ and Modern Warfare 4, Sets October 23 Launch

October 23, 2026 is the release date for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 and the newly unveiled DMZ, shown for the first time at the Xbox Games Showcase.
DMZ is being repositioned from its earlier beta into a full extraction shooter with persistent inventory, upgradeable FOB systems, dynamic objectives, shifting weather and AI, and support for solo or squad play.
New mechanics include a 3D printer for gear, cash-driven Gunsmith progression, boss hunts tied to visible dog-tag loot, a solo-friendly tourniquet revive, and an upgraded stealth and proximity-chat system.
The games will launch on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox PC, cloud, PlayStation 5, Steam, Battle.net, and Nintendo Switch 2, with Xbox Play Anywhere support and Modern Warfare 4 pre-orders already open.
