Insider Flags New Wario Game for Switch 2 as Series Nears 18 Years Dormant

A Nintendo insider known as Nash Weedle said something “Wario-related” is in the works for Switch 2, pointing to a possible new spin-off while Nintendo has yet to unveil its next 3D Mario.
The tease came while discussing Pictonico, a free WarioWare-like game released last week, which has fueled speculation that the project is more likely a Wario Land title than another WarioWare entry.
Wario Land has been dormant since 2008’s Wario Land: Shake It!, after a run that began in 1994 with Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3.
The report remains unofficial and thin on details, and the source’s mixed track record leaves room for doubt even as expectations build for a Nintendo Direct later this month.
