Iran Poll Finds 84% Say Tehran Is Winning War as 48.4% Oppose US Talks

A May survey by the Research Institute of the Comprehensive University of Islamic Revolution found 84% of respondents believe Iran is winning the war, while 8.4% said the United States is ahead.
Trust in Iran’s military remained high, with 75.3% expressing strong confidence in the armed forces and 83.5% backing Tehran’s management and control of the Strait of Hormuz.
Opinion on diplomacy was more divided: 48.4% opposed negotiations with Washington versus 36.3% in favor, while 42.4% opposed a ceasefire and 38.8% supported one.
On strategy, 52.5% favored continuing the war and 41.9% preferred a diplomatic agreement; 83.8% said any end to the conflict should follow Iran’s “Ten Conditions.”
Broader wartime sentiment was mixed beyond battlefield confidence, with 62% supporting the Axis of Resistance and 45.1% rating the government’s wartime performance positively against 37.2% negative.
