Dusk Golem said CAPCOM’s Resident Evil Veronica remake is third-person only, countering fan speculation sparked by a trailer that opened in first-person at Summer Game Fest 2026.
The insider also said the remake does not simply cut original content but shifts and remixes it heavily, signaling a significantly reworked take on Code Veronica rather than a scene-for-scene update.
CAPCOM’s official description currently centers on Claire Redfield’s capture and escape on Rockfort Island after a Paris mission against Umbrella, while omitting the original game’s substantial Antarctica section.
Set months after Resident Evil 2, the remake is expected to modernize gameplay along the lines of recent entries and is planned for PC, PS5, Xbox Series S/X and Nintendo Switch 2.
