Bronx Woman Arrested in NYC Subway Hate Crime After Allegedly Choking 23-Year-Old Rider

Diana Smith, 23, was arrested after NYPD said she punched, kicked and choked a 23-year-old woman on a New York City subway last weekend.
Video recorded by the victim appears to show Smith shouting antisemitic slurs, including “Jews are eating kids,” before the assault and after other riders reacted.
Police said Smith also threw the victim to the ground and ripped out some of her hair, leading to charges including hate crime assault, criminal obstructing breathing and aggravated harassment.
The victim was taken to a hospital in stable condition with minor injuries; she told the Jerusalem Post Smith had been asking riders if they were Jewish and making other antisemitic claims.
