Google Shuts Pixel Studio in v2.3, Redirecting Pixel 9 Users to Gemini

Pixel Studio v2.3 is rolling out now and fully disables Google's standalone AI image app, replacing its creation interface with an "Open Gemini" button and a prompt to use Nano Banana in Gemini.
Google is consolidating image generation into Gemini after already stripping parts of Pixel Studio in the previous update; existing creations remain accessible inside the app.
The app launched less than two years ago on the Pixel 9 series as a prompt-based image and sticker generator, later adding Gboard integration, people generation and AI editing tools.
The shutdown marks another shift away from dedicated Pixel AI apps toward Gemini as Google's main consumer hub for image and animation generation.
