Summary
Realms of Flow is nearing completion after years of development, with Marc Zimmermann positioning it as a customizable immersive wellness experience rather than a traditional VR game.
180-degree stereoscopic presentation, dark-scene optimization and breathing-linked depth effects are central to the app’s design, aiming to deliver sharper visuals and stronger emotional immersion on Quest 2 and Quest 3.
Zimmermann built the project around meditation timers, breathing sync, humming exercises, spatial audio and visual modulation after abandoning a more interactive Unreal Engine approach that he said became 80% technical work.
The app grows out of Zimmermann’s 2016 VR experiments and his award-winning short Conscious Existence, extending his focus on atmosphere over gameplay into a consumer product available on Meta Quest, Steam and Meta PC VR.
Beyond consumer headsets, Realms of Flow is already being integrated into Sensiks sensory pods, while Zimmermann says hospitals, retreats and elderly homes could become future non-clinical use cases.
