Ada County court unsealed autopsy reports for the four University of Idaho students, showing each suffered multiple sharp-force injuries and "endured a high degree of pain and/or suffering."
Dr. Veena Singh found the wounds were consistent with a Ka-Bar fighting knife, the suspected murder weapon; three victims were attacked while asleep around 4 a.m., while Xana Kernodle had defensive wounds.
Kaylee Goncalves' report also cited blunt-force facial injuries, signs of asphyxia and an unidentified object apparently used to cover her mouth; the filings did not include photographs.
The reports surfaced in newly unsealed court records after Bryan Kohberger pleaded guilty to avoid a firing-squad death sentence and is now serving four consecutive life terms plus 10 years.
