Summary
Ubisoft said a Rayman 1 remake is effectively off the table, with brand producer Loic Gounon calling the project “near a mission impossible.”
Rayman 1’s slow, old-school design makes modernization difficult, he said, because changing its speed and feel would turn it into a different game—essentially Rayman Origins.
For the franchise’s 30th anniversary, Ubisoft chose to preserve the 1995 original and take a more documentary-style approach instead of rebuilding it.
Rayman remains active elsewhere: Rayman: 30th Anniversary Edition is already on Switch and Switch 2, while Rayman Legends Retold and Rayman Origins: Enhanced Edition arrive on October 1.
