Darien Council Approves 3rd Fiber Network as 2 Rivals Stall

Summary
Monday's vote cleared Ezee Fiber to install a citywide network in Darien rights-of-way, giving the city a third broadband option after earlier deals with Metronet and Lumos.
Two existing projects have faltered: Lumos has gone silent after wiring only a small Ward 6 area, while Metronet has laid cable in about two-thirds of town but is blocked by DuPage County issues on major roads.
Ezee said service could go live within two to three months after lines are installed, though it stopped short of guaranteeing that timeline.
The company said it will start in areas Metronet has not reached, using front-yard rights-of-way and promising resident updates, no contracts, no data caps and fixed-for-life pricing.
