AP called nominees in Iowa’s four U.S. House districts Tuesday, with Christina Bohannan and incumbent Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks winning the Democratic and Republican primaries in District 1.
District 1 immediately sets up a 2024 rematch after Bohannan, 54, lost the general election to Miller-Meeks, 70; both campaigned heavily on lowering costs, but through sharply different healthcare and tariff policies.
District 2 produced two new nominees: Democratic state Rep. Lindsay James, 45, and Republican former state Rep. Joe Mitchell, 29, who ran on taxes, spending, agriculture and social conservative priorities.
District 4 Democrats chose former state lawmaker Dave Dawson, 52, whose platform centered on healthcare access, rural investment and higher incomes, completing Iowa’s congressional primary slate.
