Kevin Warsh has brought in Paul Winfree and Daniel Heil as temporary advisers to support policy analysis at the Federal Reserve, according to people familiar with the matter.
Winfree is a former Trump White House official who wrote a Heritage Foundation Project 2025 chapter criticizing the Fed and was considered in 2019 for a seat on the Board of Governors.
Heil is a fellow at Stanford's Hoover Institution, adding to the conservative policy tilt of the pair Warsh selected.
The hires fit Warsh's broader push for "regime change" at the central bank as he seeks to reshape its staff and policy environment.
