Wyle said The Pitt writers are breaking episode 3 and that he plans a five- or six-season arc for Dr. Michael "Robby" Robinavitch.
Season 3 will push Robby from denial toward treatment, with Wyle framing the character's path as "doctors benefit from being patients" after his season 2 mental-health collapse.
Wyle defended the more divisive second season, arguing viewers are less forgiving of a good man doing bad things than of villains showing occasional decency.
He also teased a flipped dynamic with Dr. Frank Langdon, as Robby returns after months away carrying shame, rust and damaged workplace relationships.
The comments come as HBO's breakout medical drama builds on a first season that won 5 Emmys, including 2 for Wyle.
