UBS Arena on Long Island will host a redesigned 2027 NHL All-Star Weekend on Feb. 5-6, with an under-25 skills competition and a country-based 3-on-3 tournament replacing the usual format.
Five teams will play a round robin before a 10-minute final for a $2 million prize: the United States, Canada, Sweden, Finland and a rest-of-world squad reportedly including Russian players.
The NHL and NHLPA are leaning further into international hockey after skipping the All-Star Game in each of the past two seasons because of the Four Nations Face-Off and the 2026 Winter Olympics.
That shift also positions the 2027 event as a bridge to the 2028 World Cup of Hockey, as the league tries to revive All-Star interest with formats that have recently drawn stronger player and fan engagement.
