ChatGPT Prepares Android 'Find in Chat' in v1.2026.146 as Library Tools Expand

ChatGPT’s Android app is testing a new “Find in chat” option that lets users search text inside long conversation threads from the three-dot menu.
Version 1.2026.146 also shows broader interface changes aimed at reducing clutter, including a new “Plugins” section for tools such as Deep Research, Thinking and other options now listed separately.
Library updates in the same build include List and Grid views, multi-file selection, and a way to insert files from the ChatGPT Library into other chats with the “@” symbol.
The features were uncovered in an APK teardown and manually enabled, so OpenAI has not said when they will ship and some may never reach a public release.
