April shipments from Dangote to Europe reached about 70,000 barrels per day, helping make the Nigerian refinery the world’s largest jet fuel exporter as buyers sought replacement supply.
Russia suspended jet fuel exports until Nov. 30 to protect domestic supplies after refinery disruptions linked to escalating Ukrainian attacks on energy infrastructure, removing another supplier from a tight market.
Europe has become Dangote’s biggest aviation-fuel market, with Nigerian exports there hitting a record 66,000 bpd in April and supplying roughly 20% of imported volumes during the recent crunch.
The 650,000-bpd refinery, which started production in 2024, now supplies more than 95% of Nigeria’s Jet A1 demand and exported about 1.1 billion litres of aviation fuel to Europe in March-April.
