John Fetterman publicly broke with fellow Democrats by likening their tolerance of Graham Platner to the party’s earlier support for Eric Swalwell, saying he would not “carry water” for the Maine Senate hopeful.
Platner’s troubles have widened from a Nazi-symbol tattoo disclosed last year to explicit messages to women, a Kik account and old Reddit posts under “P-Hustle,” giving Fetterman fresh ammunition.
Democrats have still largely avoided disavowing Platner because they want to flip Maine and retake the Senate, and he is scheduled to meet Democratic lawmakers in Washington on Tuesday.
Fetterman stopped short of demanding Platner quit, but he mocked the candidate’s mounting controversies — including comments about a Purple Heart recipient, Chris Kyle and dead IDF soldiers — as too numerous to track.
