Apple Develops iOS 27 Split-Screen for 7.8-Inch Foldable iPhone

iOS 27 is being built with a "Parallel View" feature that would let foldable iPhones run apps side by side on the 7.8-inch inner display.
The system-level adaptation is meant to fix iOS's weak large-screen and landscape support, preventing standard iPhone apps from appearing letterboxed on a wider panel.
Leaker Fixed Focus Digital said Apple is pursuing an iPadOS-like approach rather than copying Huawei's HarmonyOS feature directly, using "Parallel View" as a reference point.
Bloomberg's Mark Gurman had already reported iOS 27 would bring an iPad-like layout and left-side navigation bars to the foldable iPhone, which Apple is expected to preview at WWDC 2026 later this month.
