Hunt: Showdown 2.8 Reworks Inventory Into 1-5 Weapon Sizes and 8 Flexible Equipment Slots

Update 2.8 replaces Hunt: Showdown’s small-medium-large weapon slots with a 1-5 capacity system, letting players equip any two weapons totaling 5 capacity, or 6 with Quartermaster.
The rework is aimed at balancing strong loadouts more precisely: carbines are generally Size 3, rifles Size 4, and some previously common combinations become harder to field or impossible.
Tools and consumables are no longer split 4-and-4; players now get 8 shared equipment slots, with consumables capped at 4 per type to curb spam while allowing more tailored builds.
Balance changes tied to the system move Mosin, Berthier, Krag and Lebel to Special Long Ammo, split ammo pools by weapon flexibility, and make Dumdum, Explosive and Spitzer ammo scarcer.
Crytek said the overhaul should make weapon power clearer for newcomers while expanding experimentation, and said it will monitor player feedback on the new loadout meta.
