June 2 marks the start of Pokémon Go’s “Forever Forward” season, which runs until Sept. 8 and centers on the game’s 10th anniversary and Go Fest 2026.
Mega Mewtwo X and Y headline the update, debuting first at in-person Go Fest events in Tokyo, Chicago and Copenhagen before a worldwide rollout during free Go Fest Global on July 11-12.
The season also introduces Mega Raichu X and Y, Mega Skarmory, Gen 9 newcomer Squawkabilly, and Dynamax Electabuzz, Magikarp and Feebas, alongside egg-pool and Daily Discoveries changes.
Niantic is also changing Mega Evolution progression: Mega Energy can now speed Mega Level gains, and Pokémon with multiple Mega forms will track separate levels for each form.
Go Fest Global will be free for all players for the first time, with Zeraora as the featured Mythical, while the season also brings new Community Days, a fresh Go Battle League season and monthly Go Pass rewards.
