June 12 is the date Judge Tony Graf set for a 90-minute-a-side hearing on Tyler Robinson's claim that Utah County prosecutors spoke improperly outside court, even as he denied sanctions and refused to close parts of the preliminary hearing.
Graf also rejected Robinson's bid to seal some exhibits and to force disclosure of internal county attorney communications about media interviews defending the prosecution's handling of ballistics evidence.
That dispute grew from a defense filing that said ATF analysts could not identify the fatal bullet to the suspected .30-06 Mauser rifle; prosecutors said the bullet was too damaged for a conclusive match, but caliber was consistent and a spent casing matched.
Prosecutors have separately alleged Robinson confessed in texts, sought to retrieve the rifle, and left DNA on the gun, towel and three of four rounds recovered with it near Utah Valley University.
Robinson, who faces aggravated murder charges and possible death penalty in Charlie Kirk's killing, is also asking the Utah Supreme Court to overturn Graf's refusal to bar courtroom cameras.
