€899 Xiaomi 17T Pro emerged from PetaPixel’s hands-on review as the stronger pick for photographers, with the reviewer saying several days in Vienna never prompted a switch to a mirrorless camera.
A 50MP main camera, 50MP 5x telephoto and Leica image processing drove that verdict, with the larger 1/1.31-inch sensor giving the Pro better low-light and dynamic-range performance than the standard 17T.
A 7,000mAh battery paired with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging also stood out, leaving 30% to 40% battery after full days of shooting, navigation and social media use.
Leica Live Moment, which captures frames around the shutter press and uses AI to pick the best shot, was highlighted as a practical tool for portraits, motion shots and social-ready content.
The review flagged the 12MP ultra-wide camera as the lineup’s weakest link, while noting U.S. buyers would likely need to import the phones because Xiaomi lacks major carrier partnerships there.
