A 7-6, 10-inning loss to Oklahoma ended Georgia Tech’s season in the NCAA Regional, two days after the Sooners also beat the Yellow Jackets 8-7 on a walk-off.
Dayton Tockey drove in the winning run in the bottom of the 10th after Oklahoma had erased another late deficit; Georgia Tech had forced the winner-take-all rematch by beating the Sooners earlier Monday.
The defeat knocked out the No. 2 national seed despite an ACC regular-season title and a 13-game winning streak entering the tournament, extending the program’s wait for its first Super Regional since 2006.
For Oklahoma, the back-to-back walk-off wins sent the Sooners to the Super Regionals, while Georgia Tech was left lamenting missed chances in a home regional that had appeared set up for a deep run.
