NFL Stays Silent on Pride Month Day 1 as 9 of 32 Teams Also Skip Posts

June 1 passed without any Pride Month post from the NFL’s main X and Instagram accounts, a break from prior years when the league publicly promoted LGBTQ messaging.
The league’s social feeds instead focused on football news, including player moves and Raymond Berry’s death, making the omission notable rather than a broader social-media pause.
Nine of the NFL’s 32 teams also did not recognize Pride Month on Monday: the Jets, Steelers, Browns, Bengals, Titans, Chiefs, Raiders, Cowboys and Saints.
Most other major U.S. leagues marked the start of Pride Month, with MLB, the NBA and the NHL posting Monday, leaving the NFL as the main outlier for at least the first day.
The silence may still prove temporary, but it highlights how closely leagues and brands are being watched over Pride Month messaging amid a broader cultural divide.
