May 23 footage and court filings show William Applegate, 31, allegedly breached fencing, grabbed Carpenter’s front-door handle and tried to force his way into her Los Angeles home before police arrested him.
Carpenter said Applegate returned less than 24 hours later and again the following day, surveying the property from his car after security later found he had been appearing near the home since April.
Los Angeles police detective Peter Doomanis called the fixation irrational and escalating, while Carpenter said the encounters left her fearing for herself and relatives living with her.
Applegate has been charged with misdemeanor criminal trespassing and is due in court June 18; Carpenter also asked that her sister Sarah and guitarist George Smith be covered by the order.
