$13.1 billion for Blackstone Capital Partners Asia III topped the firm's $10 billion target, making it Blackstone's biggest private equity fundraise in Asia and more than double its predecessor.
Blackstone tied the raise to Asia-Pacific's growth outlook and said it has already invested more than $7 billion across 12 regional deals in the past 24 months, including bets in India, Japan and South Korea.
Fifteen exits have also helped its Asia track record as public markets recovered, including Indian listings for International Gemological Institute and Aadhar Housing Finance and the sale of Japan's Alinamin Pharmaceutical.
The fund closes as Asia-focused private capital activity revives after a difficult stretch in which fundraising fell last year to its lowest level in more than a decade, even as EQT recently raised a $15.6 billion Asia buyout fund.

Blackstone has set a new record by closing its third Asia-focused private equity fund, Blackstone Capital Partners Asia III, at $13.1 billion—making it the largest of its kind in the region. This fund was oversubscribed, surpassing its $10 billion target and doubling the size of its predecessor, despite tough fundraising conditions with high interest rates and geopolitical uncertainty.
