Tampa concertgoers booed Black Crowes singer Chris Robinson after he sarcastically answered a crowd's "U.S.A." chant during the band's Sunday night show.
An Uncle Sam version of the band's black crow mascot on the screen prompted the chant, and Robinson reportedly replied, "Thanks for the geography lesson" and "I don't know what you have to be so proud of."
TMZ video captured Robinson continuing the exchange, telling booing fans that "some of us have real faith" and that the band was "not afraid" or "ignorant."
The flare-up comes as Robinson recently told Mojo he was "not interested in politics" but believed "this s--- going on right now is wrong."
The Black Crowes are touring with Whiskey Meyers and are scheduled to play again June 2 in St. Augustine, Florida.
