Myles Garrett said goodbye to Cleveland on Monday, calling leaving “the hard part” after the trade to the Rams ended his nine seasons with the Browns.
Cleveland received edge rusher Jared Verse, a 2027 first-round pick, a 2028 second-round pick and a 2029 third-round pick in return for the former No. 1 overall pick.
Garrett told fans he gave the city “everything I had” and wished he could have done more to bring winning back, while thanking teammates, coaches, the Haslam family and Northeast Ohio.
The move closes a decorated Browns tenure in which Garrett became a five-time All-Pro, won Defensive Player of the Year twice and set an NFL sacks record, but never delivered a championship.
