The 2027 Toyota GR86 adds recalibrated throttle mapping, a smoother fifth-to-fourth downshift and updated interior treatments, with U.S. dealership arrivals expected in summer 2026.
Toyota said the changes were shaped by track testing to improve controllability and driver confidence, while the stereo camera’s recognition range was nearly doubled and a monocular camera was added for intersection detection.
A 2.4-liter boxer four remains at 228 horsepower and 184 lb.-ft. of torque, paired with either a six-speed manual or automatic in base and Premium trims.
An optional Performance Package brings Brembo brakes and SACHS dampers, while new Thunder paint and a Cockpit Red interior expand the GR86’s visual updates.
Pricing and full specifications will be released later this year as Toyota keeps refining its GR lineup around lightweight, rear-wheel-drive performance.
