IMD Issues Orange Alert for West UP as June 3-4 Storm Winds May Hit 70 kmph

West Uttar Pradesh faces an orange alert for Wednesday and Thursday, with the IMD warning of another rain spell, thunderstorms, lightning and stronger gusts reaching 70 kmph at isolated places.
Tuesday remains under a yellow alert, when storms in west UP are expected to bring 40-50 kmph winds with gusts up to 60 kmph before intensifying a day later.
Lucknow stayed relatively pleasant for a second straight day, with cloud cover and brief drizzle in some old-city areas; Monday's temperatures were 34.1°C maximum and 24.4°C minimum.
Rain across Uttar Pradesh has kept maximum temperatures below 40°C at almost all observatories, with Varanasi BHU the hottest at 39.8°C and Banda at 38.5°C, about 5°C below normal.
